This delightful and whimsical teapot features colorful, hand-painted motifs of delicate flowers arranged in an assortment of dainty vases, creating a playful garden-like scene across the body and lid. The motifs are rendered in soft, luminous colors under a glossy, transparent glaze, giving the scene the gentle feel of a picture book. Against the bright white porcelain, the pastel palette brings a sweet, lighthearted mood to your tea time, while the plump, rounded body adds to its endearing appeal.
The comfortable handle and narrow spout allow for a steady, controlled pour. A removable stainless steel mesh strainer sits inside, giving loose tea leaves room to open up and release their full aroma. Whether for your own daily tea or as a gift, this charming teapot adds a bright spot to any table.

Maker / Brand
Crafted by a father, mother, and daughter trio, Ginshu Kiln is now in its fourth generation, offering a fresh take on overglaze painting and breathing new life into Kutani ware. Founded during the Meiji era by first-generation kiln master Bunkichi, a renowned figure in Kutani ware, the kiln is known for its nuanced, muted hues and whimsical motifs. Each piece is meticulously hand-painted, giving Ginshu Kiln’s overglaze decoration its distinctive warmth and character.
Origin
Kutani ware is a traditional Japanese porcelain from the Kaga region in Ishikawa Prefecture, with a history spanning over 350 years. Known for its vibrant overglaze enamel designs and use of five signature colors, known as Kutani gosai—navy blue, red, purple, green, and yellow pigments. This timeless craft has continuously evolved through generations of artisans who balance innovation with a deep respect for tradition.
Kutani ware exhibits a diverse range of distinctive styles, shaped by evolving artistic tastes over the centuries. Styles such as ko-Kutani, with its bold colors, geometric patterns, and painterly detail, and akae-saibyo, marked by ultra-fine red lines. Many pieces feature traditional Japanese motifs, such as kacho (flowers and birds) and sansui (landscapes), offering a timeless glimpse into the beauty of nature and the seasons.
